Hey all! Brenda and I finally made it to Oktoberfest last week, and we've got the pictures to prove it. We went in the mid-afternoon on Wednesday, which ended up being a great time because it wasn't very busy. After taking a stroll around the grounds, we found a beer tent so we could rest our weary legs and sample some of the local food and drink.
I have to admit, lederhosen are really comfortable.
A friend told us that her favorite beer at Oktoberfest is Augustiner, so we went to the Augustiner beer tent in search of a place to sit.
Here is a picture from inside the Augustiner beer "tent." At 3:00 in the afternoon we couldn't find a place to sit inside, so we ventured outside.
Luckily there were a few tables outside that weren't completely full. Shortly after we sat down the server walked over to us and held up two fingers. We nodded, and a little while later she brought us two beers. Decisions about which type of beer to order or whether we wanted light or dark beer were totally unnecessary. There was just the one kind. And it was delicious.
As you would imagine, Oktoberfest has numerous beer tents that are operated by various breweries. But the festivities aren't just limited to beer. There are a lot of rides, games and food vendors all around the Oktoberfest grounds. And why shouldn't there be? After all, large quantities of beer and roller coasters go very well together.
We really enjoyed wearing our Oktoberfest outfits. Now when can we wear them again...
After we left the Oktoberfest grounds, Brenda and I went into the subway and saw a long line of workers standing between people who were waiting for the train and the tracks. You might not be able see it in this picture, but there are officials lined up the entire length of the track.
Other than our Oktoberfest outing, Brenda has been busy with performances and preparing for upcoming roles. By the way, thank you to those of you that tuned in for the live stream of Brenda's opera on Sunday. Ain't technology grand? On that note, I should call it a night. I hope you all have a wonderful week, and we'll talk to you next Tuesday!

We agree - we like the Augustiner Beer Garden the best of the 4 beer gardens we visited. Food was really good too.
